There was once a girl… an ordinary girl from an ordinary Russian city. Just like everyone else… But there was something that made her special. She was deeply in love with… Are you waiting for a romantic story? Hah! You have another guess coming! She was deeply in love with money! And it happens quite often!

Well… She was dreaming of a wonderful life, trendy clothes, and jewelry. And what did she have? She was young, pretty, slim, and spoke English pretty well. So she decided to search for a better life on the Internet. It’s very simple. All you have to do is to find a man and live your best life. And it’s even better to find a man from another country. So our girl joined a dating website to meet a foreign single (because she spoke English, as already mentioned).

She made some nice photos, created a profile and started searching. A lot of messages, a lot of admirers. Having spent too much time on the Internet browsing for various information, our girl understood that she could make some money while looking for the right guy. Stop! We are not talking about the prostitution! As is known, all the great things are simple! One man makes a present, another sends money, and the third invites to another country. Foreigners are naive, you know (at least they used to be…).

Just imagine, some man from Texas is sitting in front of a computer and enjoys that such a beautiful girl shows interest in him, but he doesn’t know how to make her happy.

And she is giving him a hint: “Oh, you know, I’d like to meet you, but I don’t earn enough to pay for the trip …”

And he says: “Don’t worry! I’ll bear all the expenses! Just come to me!”

She says: “You’re so cute! If you send me $2000, I’ll be able to go to America!”

He says: “OK, I’ll send you money tomorrow! Waiting for you!”

And he sends her money, but he never meets that girl…

You think it is an imaginary story? But the fact is that it’s absolutely true! And I’m going to tell you about the worst nightmare of every man who wants to marry a girl from the former Soviet Union – about scammers. Don’t confuse with spammers!

Scam is a fraud, cheating.

This term was introduced by the owner of a dating website. She is widely known in narrow circles. I won’t mention her name as it doesn’t matter. The fact is, this term first appeared about 8 years ago and became the most frightful word both for foreign fiancés and Russian brides.

So, what are scammers? In the sphere of international dating, scammers are girls who cheat foreign men. They swindle money and gifts from foreigners in a variety of ways. In other words, they are looking for unfair ways to make money from the business that was initially created with good intentions. As the saying goes, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. And, unfortunately, international dating is not the exception…

Today I’m just starting this subject, and I will continue it in my next posts. I’ll talk about this in detail, as it is an important topic. Every girl who wants to marry a foreigner should know this.

Well, the term scam appeared about 8 years ago and just in a year Internet-users became paranoid with it. Men were afraid that girls are trying to cheat and swindle money from them, and their boundless suspiciousness made them insane.

Websites with the lists of dishonest brides started to appear. These lists include photos, emails and cheating details. The so-called black lists of Russian brides.

For some reason, Yoshkar-Ola became the capital of Russian scammers. Frankly speaking, I don’t know why cheaters prospered exactly in this city.

The scheme is easy as pie. Scammers post photos of pretty girls (most often photos of our celebrities who are not famous in the West) and create fake profiles. It can be, for example, Masha Ivanova, 25 years of age. Then they correspond with foreigners on her behalf. What is more, even men can write these messages, as you never know who you are talking to online.

There is a number of cheating schemes. Some girls ask for money for the treatment for their relatives, other want to buy a PC, to pay for Internet, studies, trip, visa to America, etc.

Just think! All these men believe sincerely that they are dealing with girls who want to marry and who are interested in serious relationships. And now think how many lives were ruined by scammers! How many men who burnt their fingers while dealing with such fake brides lost faith in honest women! And how this affected women who are still trying to find a foreign husband that is so difficult now…

But some foreign men seek justice and find it. Some Internet scammers were convicted and got jail term. However, it didn’t change the situation much…

Well, let’s return to the subject.

Nowadays it is not a topical problem, because foreign men do not trust Russian girls as they used to. At the same time, despite all this dirt, both men and women are still seeking for love abroad and they often succeed in this.
